Considerations for Large-Scale SharePoint Deployments on SQL Server

Description: This session will identify architectural design considerations, provide prescriptive guidance and discuss best practices, based on real-world scenarios, around designing storage architecture subsystems for large-scale SharePoint deployments using SQL Server. Also discussed are best practices for maximizing scalability and performance with SharePoint and SQL Server, as well as techniques for monitoring scalability metrics for existing implementations.
Speaker Bio:
Paul Learning is a Senior Consultant with Microsoft Consulting Services and has been with Microsoft for 8½ years, specializing in Office SharePoint Server 2007 (MOSS) and Content Management Server (CMS) 2002. He worked primarily on large-scale, enterprise CMS and MOSS solutions with Microsoft, and became the technical SME for the SharePoint Deployment Planning Services (SDPS) offering last year. He is based out Microsoft's Southfield, Michigan offices, but his customers are located throughout the US.
